Indiana splits the journey cleanly: vocational rehabilitation pays for Discovery and three placement milestones, then hands the person to the waiver for Extended Services.

The three biggest differences
- A built-in handoff. VR pays three placement milestones, then refers the person to waiver Extended Services at least 90 days before the last.
- New rules in 2026. Waiver Benefits Counseling arrives, facility-based prevocational services close to newcomers, and every DSP joins a state registry.
- Seven years of records. Indiana's retention rule is longer than the package's six years, so the program keeps seven.
