1. Who we are
This site is run by Abilities Bountiful ("we", "us"), publisher of Employment Services. You can reach the Adoption Office at admin@abilitiesbountiful.com or 443-233-8521. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
2. Guidance, not advice
For providers. The Employment Services manual, the state and territory addenda, the volume summaries and the Adoption Navigator are a standard a provider adopts and adapts to its own program. They are not legal advice and not regulatory approval, and they do not guarantee a license, approval, accreditation or funding from DDA, DORS, the Social Security Administration, CARF or any other body. Rules and figures change; each document carries its date. Confirm current requirements with the agency concerned and with your own counsel before you rely on them.
For people looking for work. The Employment Specialist service gives general information and the help of our certified employment specialists. It is not legal, medical, benefits or financial advice. The answers in step 5 (Work and benefits) are general rules; before you decide anything about work and your benefits, speak with a benefits counselor. We will connect you with one, free.
3. The Employment Specialist service
- It is free. The only charge is the optional specialist review of your resume (section 5).
- Who may use it. Anyone 14 or older who is looking for work. Anyone under 18 takes part with a parent or guardian, who agrees before answers are sent. A family member, friend, counselor or provider may help, but only with the knowledge and agreement of the person looking for work.
- Your account. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. Keep that email account to yourself, and tell us at once if you think someone else has used yours.
- Tell us what is true. Do not enter someone else's information without their permission. Please do not give us a Social Security number, medical records or a diagnosis; we never need them.
- Job leads are suggestions. Employers make their own hiring decisions. We cannot promise an interview, an offer, a wage or hours, and we are not your employer. We contact an employer about you only in the way you chose in step 2, and your supervisor only in the way you chose in step 6.
- Check-ins are not an emergency service. We check in on the schedule you see and call when you tell us it is not going well. If you or anyone else is in danger, call 911.
- You can stop at any time, and ask us to delete your profile.
4. Drafts written with AI
Your resume (step 3) and your plan for asking for what you need (step 4) are first drafted by an AI model, working only from what you told us; the Privacy notice says exactly what it is sent. A draft can contain mistakes. Read every draft before you use it: you decide what goes out under your name. A certified employment specialist can review and sign either one.
5. Purchases, delivery and license
- Prices are shown beside each item, in US dollars: each volume of the manual $149; Volume 0, which includes all sixteen volumes, $999; each state or territory addendum $49; a specialist review of your resume $49. Any tax that applies is added at checkout.
- Payment is taken by Stripe on its own secure pages. Card details never reach this site.
- Delivery of a volume or addendum is immediate: Stripe returns you to a download page that works for 30 days, with up to 10 downloads of each file. Please keep your copy.
- Delivery of a resume review: a certified employment specialist reviews, edits and signs your resume, and it appears on your journey page within five business days of payment. We email you when it is ready.
- License. A volume or addendum is licensed to the organization that buys it, for use within that organization. You may print it, copy it for your own staff and board, and adapt it into your own program's policies and forms. You may not resell it, publish it, post it where the public can reach it, or give it to another organization. Copyright stays with Abilities Bountiful.
6. Refunds
Volumes and addenda are digital and are final once delivered. If a download fails, a file is damaged or is not what its page described, or you were charged twice, write to us within 14 days and we will replace it or refund you.
A resume review is refunded in full if you ask before your specialist begins, or if we do not deliver it within five business days.
To ask, write to admin@abilitiesbountiful.com with the email on your Stripe receipt.
7. Specialists who apply
An application to join our specialists does not create employment or a contract. We verify credentials with the certifying bodies, speak with the references you name and, if you are approved, arrange a background check. Approved specialists work under a separate written agreement, which governs that work. False information in an application is a reason to decline it or to end an agreement.
8. Using the site fairly
Please do not: try to get into accounts, pages or data that are not yours; probe, overload or copy the site in bulk with automated tools; pretend to be someone else; use the site to harass anyone or to collect other people's information; or copy the site's text, films or the manual beyond what section 5 allows. We may suspend an account or refuse service when these terms are broken.
9. Content from others
The interest assessment uses the O*NET Mini Interest Profiler and O*NET occupation data from the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration, under the CC BY 4.0 license; we have adapted their presentation. Career videos are from CareerOneStop, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor, and are in the public domain. Neither body endorses Abilities Bountiful. Links to other sites are for your convenience; we are not responsible for their content.
10. What is ours, what is yours
The site's design, text, drawings and films, the Employment Services manual and the Abilities Bountiful name and mark belong to Abilities Bountiful. Your answers, resume and plan are yours. You give us permission to keep and use them to provide the service, as the Privacy notice describes, until you ask us to delete them.
11. Warranties and limits
We work to keep the site accurate, secure and available, but it is provided as it is, without promises that it will always be available, free of errors or right for your particular purpose, to the extent the law allows.
To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost revenue or funding, a missed deadline, or a declined application, license or job. Our total responsibility for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred dollars if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility the law does not allow to be limited.
12. Changes, law and contact
We may update these terms as the site changes; the date at the top shows the current version, and if a change matters to account holders we will say so on the site and by email. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland. If something goes wrong, please talk to us first: most things are put right by a phone call. Questions: the Adoption Office, admin@abilitiesbountiful.com, 443-233-8521.
