Employment Services in Florida
Florida's iBudget waiver supports people in their jobs after vocational rehabilitation finds them, and Florida law adds all-party recording, Level 2 screening and E-Verify.
Florida at a glance
| Agency for employment services | Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) |
|---|---|
| How employment is funded | iBudget Florida waiver |
| Vocational rehabilitation | Division of Vocational Rehabilitation; Division of Blind Services |
| Medicaid agency | Agency for Health Care Administration |
| Minimum wage | $14.00, with scheduled increases |
The three biggest differences
- VR finds the job; the waiver keeps it. Waiver job development stays under a fifth of provider time; ongoing support is the waiver's role.
- Plan around VR's provider door. Vocational rehabilitation was not taking new fee-for-service providers in autumn 2026.
- Tighter state law. All-party consent to record, Level 2 background screening, and E-Verify.
