Employment Services in Arkansas

In Arkansas, waiver employment runs through managed care, and the vocational rehabilitation agency pays by milestone before the waiver takes over.

The three biggest differences

  1. Managed care plans run the waiver. A PASSE care coordinator writes the plan, authorizes services and pays claims.
  2. Milestones, then 15-minute units. ARS pays referral, placement, stabilization and closure; the waiver funds what follows.
  3. Tighter workforce checks. Registry checks every 2 years, criminal checks every 5, and a drug screen before hire.
